Nazlini Community School, Inc. (NCSI) believes that a dynamic program of student activities is vital to the educational development of the student. The athletic program should provide a variety of experiences to enhance the development of positive habits and attitudes in student that will prepare them for adult life. The program should offer opportunities to serve the school, to assist in the development of fellowship and goodwill, to promote self‐esteem, and to encourage learning qualities of good citizenship. Athletic competition adds to our school spirit and helps develop community pride.
Athletics plays an important part in the life of NCSI. Your people learn a great deal from participation in interscholastic athletics. Lessons in sportsmanship, teamwork, competition, and how to win and lose gracefully are integral part of our athletic program. Athletic participation also plays an important part in helping students develop a health self‐concept as well as a healthy body. Athletic competition also improves school spirit and helps students develop pride in their school.
The athletic programs will conform with the general objective of the school educational mission. The academic curriculum is our primary emphasis. Athletics play an important, but supplemental role in the school’s program of education, which strives to provide experiences that will help to develop students physically, socially, and emotionally.
The athletic program will be available to all students who demonstrate an interest in participating. Accordingly, appropriate skills should be established within activities so that students may participate as fully and safely as possible.
Every effort should be made to provide the best equipment, facilities and qualified staff. As much as possible, knowledge and skills gained in the classroom should be applied and developed further through participation in the athletic program. Coaches will teach students the specific skills necessary for improvement in activities, and help them appreciate the importance of practice and dedication. The ultimate goal of the athletic programs is to realize the value of participation without overemphasizing the importance of winning and to develop and improve citizenship traits among the program participants.
